From sketch to working hardware, fast.
PM Prototypes is a one-stop prototyping shop. We design, print, machine, wire, assemble, source and test your product so you can put real hardware in people's hands without juggling six vendors.
One shop. Whole product.
Every step between idea and product.
Hardware gets stuck in the gaps between vendors. The printer shop does not talk to the PCB house, and neither knows what your enclosure needs. We close those gaps by running the full chain in one place.

The specifics, for people who like specifics.
Here is what each discipline looks like in practice, so you know what to expect before you send a file.
Choose the process that fits the job.
FDM is the workhorse. It is quick, cheap and strong enough for most functional parts. Resin wins when you need fine detail or a smooth surface. We will tell you which one makes sense and why, even if it means a cheaper option for you.
Typical uses: enclosures, brackets, gears, snap-fits, living hinges, mounts, soft-touch grips, display models, test fixtures and production jigs.
| Material | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PLA / PLA+ | Visual models, quick fit checks | Fastest and cheapest. Low heat resistance. |
| PETG | Functional parts, enclosures | Tough, some flex, handles moisture well. |
| ABS / ASA | Heat and outdoor use | Sandable, smoothable, UV stable (ASA). |
| TPU | Gaskets, grips, bumpers | Flexible, impact absorbing. |
| Nylon / PA-CF | Gears, structural parts | High strength and wear resistance. |
| PC / PC blends | Demanding mechanical parts | Strong and heat tolerant. |
| Standard & tough resin | Fine detail, small parts | Smooth finish, tight features. |
When plastic is not enough.
Metal brackets, heat sinks, precise mounting plates and wooden or acrylic enclosures. CNC gives you tighter tolerances, better surface finish and real material properties for parts that carry load or dissipate heat.
We often pair CNC with 3D printing: print the complex shapes, machine the parts that need to be flat, strong or thermally conductive.
| Material | Typical parts |
|---|---|
| Aluminum 6061 | Brackets, heat sinks, chassis, faceplates |
| Brass & copper | Contacts, bus bars, decorative parts |
| Delrin (POM) / HDPE | Bushings, wear parts, low-friction components |
| Acrylic & polycarbonate | Windows, light pipes, covers |
| Hardwood & MDF | Enclosures, display stands, jigs |
From schematic to a board that powers on the first time.
Good boards start with good decisions: the right microcontroller, a clean power tree, sensible connectors and a layout that respects signal integrity. We focus on getting you to a working first spin, then a clean second spin that is ready to hand to a manufacturer.
Our team works across microcontrollers, wireless modules, motor drivers, battery management, sensor interfaces and display drivers.
| Stage | What you get |
|---|---|
| Architecture | Block diagram, part selection, power budget |
| Schematic | Reviewed schematic with notes and test points |
| Layout | 2 to 6 layer boards, controlled impedance when needed |
| DFM check | Review against fab and assembly rules |
| Outputs | Gerbers, drill files, BOM, centroid, assembly drawing |
| Bring-up | Power-on testing, debug and revision notes |
The unglamorous work that makes products ship.
Most hardware delays come from parts that are out of stock, tolerances that stack up wrong, or a unit that works once and never again. We catch these early.
Sourcing includes alternate parts when the first choice has a 40-week lead time. Assembly includes proper fasteners, strain relief, labeling and cable routing. Testing includes written results you can show a partner or investor.
| Test | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Power & current profiling | Battery life, brownouts, inrush problems |
| Thermal imaging & soak | Hot spots, throttling, enclosure venting needs |
| Fit & tolerance check | Whether parts mate, snap and seal as designed |
| Cycle & endurance | Buttons, hinges, motors and connectors over time |
| Drop & vibration | Weak joints, loose parts, cracked solder |
| Wireless range | Real-world antenna and connectivity performance |

Days
Does the idea work at all? Rough, fast and cheap. Printed parts, off-the-shelf modules and breadboards.
Weeks
Custom boards, machined parts, proper enclosures. Prove the design meets its specs.
Small batches
10 to 500 units for beta testers, trade shows and early customers, with documented assembly steps.
Built around how hardware teams actually work.
One team, one point of contact
No finger-pointing between a print shop, a PCB house and an assembler. We own the whole result, so the enclosure fits the board and the board fits the battery.
Honest advice
If a design will be hard to manufacture or the cheaper route is good enough, we will say so. Better to hear it now than after you order 1,000 units.
Speed without sloppiness
Multiple machines running in parallel and an in-house electronics bench mean fast turnarounds, with documented checks on every build.

We sign NDAs on request. Your designs, files and ideas are not shared, reused or published.
Quick answers.
What file formats do you accept?
For mechanical parts: STEP, STL, 3MF, IGES, DXF and SVG. For electronics: Gerber, KiCad, Altium, Eagle and Fusion 360 Electronics projects, plus BOMs in CSV or Excel. No files yet? We can design from sketches, photos and written specs.
How fast can I get a quote?
Most requests get a response within one business day. Complex multi-discipline projects may need a short call first so we scope them properly.
Can you help if I do not have a design?
Yes. Many clients start with a napkin sketch or a list of features. We can develop the mechanical design, electronics and a build plan with you.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. Send us your NDA or we can provide a standard mutual one before you share anything.
What is the minimum order?
One. A single part or a single board is a perfectly normal job. For pilot batches we can also scale into the hundreds.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Yes. We ship worldwide. Shipping costs and lead times are included in the quote.
Can you take my prototype to mass production?
We prepare handoff packages with BOMs, drawings and test procedures, and can introduce you to contract manufacturers and tooling partners. Our focus is getting you ready for production, not running the factory.
Do you do regulatory certification?
We build prototypes and can design with certifications like FCC, UL and CE in mind, but formal certification is done through accredited labs. We can help you prepare and coordinate.
